1978. Edwars and Steptoe described the IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) and embryo transfer technique, afterwards
Louis Brown was born.
1982. 1st birth in Spain (Barcelona), obtained by in vitro fertilization.
1989. Handyside and collaborators (London), successfully used the Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD)
to detect hereditary diseases
1992. Palermo and collaborators published first results of births by means of ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm
Injection) in Brussels.
2002. Kuwayama (Japan) First pregnancy from vitrified ovules.
